ČIČMANY

Čičmany - zo Žiliny smerom na Prievidzu cez Rajeckú dolinu, potom odbočka doprava a chvíľu okolo lesa, sem tam vidno potôčik, citeľne pribúda množstvo snehu až sa začínajú objavovať drevenice s bielymi ornamentmi. Každý asi zachytil, že inšpirovali slovenský olympijský odev.
Čičmany sa oplatí vidieť, no nečakajte prehnane veľa. Je to príjemná prechádzka okolo dreveníc, z ktorých niektoré by potrebovali prerábku...
najmä opraviť ornamenty, do ktorých sa zahryzol čas. Chválim nový obchodík v jednej z dreveníc, kde si možno objednať i kávu a kúpiť si ornamentálne čiapky, šále i tričká, nejakú keramiku a netypické teplučké ponožky, taktiež pohľadnice a magnetky, ktorým by však neuškodila aktualizácia! Čičmany ponúkajú krásne zákutia pre fotografov a tiež možnosť nazrieť dovnútra drevenice alias múzeum. Musím priznať, že život v dreveniciach bol pre mňa vždy zaujímavý a fascinujú ma najmä ich  okná. Niektorí súčasní obyvatelia dreveníc im vedia dať dušu. Veď napokon, vidno to aj na fotke! Podobne tomu je na Boci, Nižnej i Vyšnej, ale o tom inokedy!

Čičmany - leave Žilina direction Prievidza through Rajecká Valley, then turn right, go along the forest, you can sometimes see a little mountain stream, an amount of snow is apparently going up till you notice wooden houses with special white ornaments. Everybody knows they have inspired a Slovak olympic outfit. This village is worth to see, however do not expect a lot! It's a nice walk along and among the traditional wooden houses, some of them already need to be repaired... especially the nice ornaments have to be repainted because the time has left its mark on them. I recommend a cute small shop, a new one, in one of the main wooden houses, where you can even buy some coffee and caps-scarves or T-shirts with those ornaments I told you, some ceramic stuff and atypically warm handmade socks... There are also postcards and magnets to be sold, but they really need to be kept up to date! In Čičmany, there are beautiful places for photographers or there is a possibility to have a look inside the traditional old wooden house - a museum. I have to agree I am very interested in living in these houses, always and ever, I am especially fascinated by their windows! Some actual citizens are able to give them soul. You can notice it on the photo, can' t you? It is nearly the same as in Boca, Nižná or Vyšná, but I will tell you about it later!
